Article: The Print We Can’t Stop Thinking About

The Print We Can’t Stop Thinking About

Some trends arrive loudly. Others slip in quietly, until one day you realize they’re everywhere.

Lately, it’s deer print. Or fawn. Or what many of us have come to call, simply, Bambi.

It started subtly: A skirt, a handbag, a detail you notice in passing. Then, almost all at once, it felt like every girl whose style we love had found her way to it. Victoria Montanari in a deer print leather jacket that stopped us mid-scroll. Sofia Richie Grainge channeling it through her label, SRG, in a silk fawn-print dress that landed on every mood board we follow. Hannah Lovey making it feel like the most natural thing in the world.

The kind of dresser who makes it all feel easy, never overthought. There is something about this print that feels exactly like that.

Softer than traditional animal prints, more nuanced, less about contrast and more about harmony. It doesn't interrupt a look. It settles into it. Or, when you want it to, becomes the entire point. That might be exactly why it resonates.

For years, animal prints have carried a certain boldness. Leopard, zebra, even cow print all hold a strong visual presence. Deer print feels different. It blends rather than demands. Editors have been pointing to it as the print of the moment, first emerging through fall and winter and now fully settling into spring. Not as something fleeting, but as a new kind of neutral. A print that feels grounded, warm, almost sun-washed. The new neutral, but one with personality.

It’s the kind of print that doesn’t require overthinking. It moves easily between pieces you already own or stands entirely on its own. Wear it with your favorite denim and it becomes the most interesting thing about the outfit. Pair it with a silk skirt and cardigan and it feels equally effortless.

Around the same time, we found ourselves thinking about the mountains. Cortina d’Ampezzo has always carried a certain kind of allure. Not just for where it is, but for how you arrive. The winding roads, the quiet pauses, the shift in air as you climb higher. There is something about altitude that softens everything else.

Earlier this year, as Cortina came back into focus through the Milano Cortina Olympics, that imagery felt even more present. Snow, forests, movement, and the quiet presence of deer across seasons, part of the landscape without ever feeling placed. It felt effortless, natural, and timeless.

At Viani, we don’t approach something simply because it’s trending. We sit with it first. We ask if it feels like something we would naturally wear, something that belongs in our world. With deer print, the answer was immediate.

We began developing it early last fall, working closely with our Italian fabric partners to create a custom velvet made specifically for us. The tone, the scale, the way the print would translate across each silhouette, every detail was considered. It was important that it felt balanced, wearable, and entirely our own.

Velvet has always been at the heart of what we do. It’s soft, breathable, and moves with you. It holds color in a way that feels rich without feeling heavy. Seeing this print come to life through Italian velvet felt like a natural extension of everything we love, something familiar, reimagined with intention. We introduced it through two silhouettes that feel entirely Viani.

The Cortina Bambi Corsa Sneaker is rooted in movement, designed for days that begin in one place and end in another. There is an ease to it that feels instinctive. Wear it with your favorite denim and it becomes the most interesting thing about the outfit. With a silk skirt and a cardigan, it carries that balance of effortlessness and detail that defines everyday dressing now.

The Bambi Double Strap Mary Jane velvet is where craftsmanship comes fully forward. A silhouette we return to again and again, the double strap that has become a Viani signature, reinterpreted through texture and print. The hand-stitching, the softness of the velvet, the way the shoe adapts to you rather than the other way around, it feels both familiar and entirely new, like something you’ve always had, just seen differently.

What we love most is how this print lives once it’s worn. It doesn’t feel tied to a season. It moves from winter into summer seamlessly. It works in the mountains, in the city, at a Sunday market, at a dinner that same evening, and everywhere in between.

There’s a reason it’s everywhere right now. Not because it’s loud, but because it fits.

For us, this was never about following a trend. It was about recognizing something that already felt timeless and creating it in a way that would last. Something you return to, instinctively, season after season.

We knew we had to create these for you!
