As we step into autumn, we revisit this Viani Milano staple—worn all summer long and now ready to carry us into fall, in the most stylish way.

We first introduced this silhouette over two years ago—the very first departure from our traditional friulane. In the spirit of innovation, we set out to create a ballet flat that was thoroughly Viani.

We preserved our signature velvet and hand-stitched upcycled rubber soles, refined the form, and added a chic grosgrain ribbon that wraps gracefully around the ankle for the most elegant fit. The ties, with their contrasting texture, elevate the design and play beautifully against the plush velvet—likened to a soft, silken touch—available in shades of sky blue, golden beige, and a delectable burgundy we especially adore for the seasons ahead. From the very first iterations of this shoe, fabric choice was essential: it had to be versatile enough to dress up or down, yet refreshing and new. Two years on, we remain just as captivated by that decision.

The truth is simple: you won’t find an uncomfortable Viani—and this design is no exception. We’ve always been fans of versatility: detachable sleeves, a dress that doubles as a skirt—you name it, we’re all for practicality. This shoe follows the same philosophy. Wear it with the grosgrain ribbon wrapped at the ankles, or slip it through the hidden loops inside and style it as a classic flat. And as for the ties? You’ve shown us countless ways to wear them on Instagram, and we adore every single one. After all, this style is truly a classic.

While we don’t have a single favorite way to wear them, we’re especially looking forward to the outerwear season to pair them with our beloved coats and jackets—trench, tweed, duster, leather, suede, you name it. Another go-to look is with a mini skirt or dress—or with tights as the weather cools in autumn and winter. They even look great styled with tube socks, the perfect mix of athletic and girly. However you choose to wear them, this silhouette adapts with effortless ease and delivers that touch of Viani magic—season after season.
